Beehive/pet food Ant Barrier set of 4 Made in U.S.A.

Description

I am a small manufacturer primarily in injection molding. I make these to deter ants from getting into beehives, they also can be used to protect your pets food from ants and/or a place to store the food. They have a cup that is
half
filled
with oil and a cover to help the bees from falling into the oil, the cover helps to keep water from rain and sprinklers from displacing the oil. The cover can be lifted up without disturbing the hive to inspect the oil level and/or to check if any bees or insects have become trapped. The peg transmits the weight see pic with 12 cinder blocks total 300 pounds. This listing is for 4 complete base and cover ant blockers including plastic pegs*  (please notify seller if you are buying for pets, pegs are not required for pet food) They are made in California from pre-consumer regrind HDPE, collected at the factory as runners, trimmings and reject parts (
COLOR WILL VARY
) so you can use any oil, but light motor oil is recommended as cooking oil gets eaten by bugs. Shipping paid by buyer. Please note: in an average hive with around 30,00 bees, at least 500 will die and be replaced every day so there will be older bees walking around the hive too weak to fly. These bees will try to climb up the stand and will get trapped in the oil moat. If this is of concern to you, instead of oil, smear grease on the underside of the cover, ants will not cross the grease unless it gets covered with dust.
*Wooden pegs are now plastic, the doweling we used to get was made in
U.S.A. but the supplier changed to Chinese doweling so we built a mold
to make them ourselves.
